Monday, May 23, 2011

1. The dancers go a little crazy...

2. You realize, despite wearing four-inch heels, how short you still are.

3. At least three people don't recognize you in your mask.

4. The Phantom of the Opera tells you you look magnificent.

5. You teach a friend to dance. :)

6. One of your best friends designed and sewed her leather mask & dress.

7. Said best friend has the night of her life.

8. Best friend and you decide to fight in the middle of the dance floor. People take bets. ;)

9. Chocolate fountain. Nothin' more to say.

10. Dipping cream puffs and cheesecake in the chocolate fountain. :D

11. You feel like Hermione Granger at the end of the Yule Ball. Just a little bit.

12. Your feet hurt indescribably, and you wonder how the Twelve Dancing Princesses do this every night...

Nothing is more calming....

He is Risen!

Let the whole earth rejoice that the Son of God has risen and death has been defeated! Alleluia, alleluia!

Now that the 40 days of fasting are over, the 50 days of feasting begin! Last Sunday, Divine Mercy Sunday, marked the last day of the Easter Octave...but only the first week of Easter! Lent is rather akin to Advent in that it so often steals the actual holiday's thunder (Easter, Christmas), but Lent adn Advent are just seasons of preparation for the holy seasons of celebrating Easter and Christmas. And we have 50 days!

I love that Easter kicks off Spring...I realized today at Mass that I was already back in my "normal routine" mindset, but's it still a holy time in the Church with the white and gold vestments/hangings of Easter. I'm going to try very hard to spend the remainder of the Easter season in joyful anticipation and earnest prayer leading up to Pentecost. I will be Confirmed with the Holy Ghost in June! I am both eagerly excited and nervous...it's an awful lot to prepare for! :)

On Easter Sunday, Father charged us with this task: "We must spread the Good News...it is good news, so tell someone! Share it with the world!" So here it is, dear little corner of the world - our King and Savior has risen. And sweetest of all, we too are resurrected with Him. All we need do is believe and follow His commandmants.

"'Blessed are they who have not seen yet believe...' 'Do this is memory of Me...'"
